NPC Birth Registration Update: Beware of NPC Ad hoc Staff ID Card Registration 2023 Payment

While the National Population Commission (NPC) has intensified efforts for the conduct of the Birth Registration Exercise across the selected States in the Country, Fraudsters have also developed gimmicks to defraud the NPC Birth Registration Adhoc Staff applicants.

The NPC Birth Registration is a partnership between the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the National Population Commission (NPC), to register a minimum of 12 million eligible children under the of age 5 years in the country.

The 24 participating States plus FCT include Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi, Ondo, Enugu, Cross River, Bayelsa, Delta, Lagos, Ogun

The objectives of the NPC Birth Registration also includes to issue birth certificates that provides names and nationality of every child in the Country.

This follows the decision of the NPC to develop a formidable database where birth and death data can be collated and stored for proper statistical referencing.

A platform, https://admin.birthregistrationadhoce-recruitment.com known as the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (ECRVS) Portal has been developed to aid the NPC ECRVS Birth Registration and data storage across the Country.

The PDF Lists of NPC Birth Registration shortlisted Candidates were released last week, as the NPC prepares to train the shortlisted NPC Birth Registration shortlisted Candidates.

The Training Modalities for the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (ECRVS) focuses on the methods and techniques best for building the right human capacity to support the deployment and RESULT-DRIVEN use of the ECRVS.

However, Fraudsters have taken advantage of the List of NPC Birth Registration shortlisted Candidates released to the public, to develop a system for scamming unsuspecting victims whose names were contained in the list.

The fraudsters have begun contacting the NPC Birth Registration shortlisted Candidates through their registered phone numbers, sending  them text messages which instigate them to pay the sum of N1,500 for NPC Ad hoc Staff ID Card Registration 2023.

The Fraudulent message reads:

"Dear ADHOC kindly visit: https://npc-idregistrationbr.com.ng/ to register for your ID Card"

Another message reads,

"Dear ADHOC kindly visit: https://npc-idregistrationbr.com.ng/ and register for your ID Card"

Assessing the Web Link in the message, it says: "You are required to pay the sum of N1,500 ID Card Fees which is refundable to you immediately your work commences. Make sure you enter your application ID as Narration (Note). Account Number: 8270011584; Account Name: CLEARTRANS; Bank Name: WEMA BANK."

The fraudsters also requested the unsuspecting victims to upload their payment receipts through the link provided above.

This post serves to alert the NPC Birth Registration Recruitment shortlisted Candidates that the text messages above are FAKE and not from the National Population Commission.

The NPC had in a message contained in the Birth Registration Recruitment 2023 Website https://birthregistrationadhoce-recruitment.com, warned the NPC Birth Registration Adhoc Staff applicants that the Birth Registration Recruitment 2023 is Free of charge.

"Note that application is free and approvals are based on merit and any citizen posing as an agent collecting money from the applicants to fast track or induce approvals will be found and duly prosecuted to the full extent of the law", the NPC stated.

Again, only trained applicants will be issued ID Card at the time of deployment to the designated place of the NPC Birth Registration exercise within candidates localities.
