The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation led by Dr Betta Edu has intensified efforts to ensure that the Renewed Hope Skill Acquisition Programme (Npower Programme) achieved it's objectives in the President Tinubu Administration.
But before the kick-off of the Renewed Hope Skill Acquisition Programme, which is the name given to Tinubu Administration Npower Programme, outstanding Stipends would be paid to Npower beneficiaries being owed up to 9 Months in the past administration.
Such effort has been recorded in the recovery of millions of Naira that were hijacked by payment service providers contracted to pay the Npower beneficiaries Stipends, but advertently failed to pay the beneficiaries.
Following the announcement made by the Npower National Programme Manager, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, on the decision of the government to clear the 9 months outstanding Stipends, here are 5 Important Things to know about the Npower Batch C Outstanding Stipend Payment.
1. Npower Batch C Outstanding Stipends Payment begins in November 2023: The payment of the Npower Batch C Outstanding Stipends will begin in November 2023.
2. Npower Batch C Outstanding Stipends will be paid in Batches: The payment of the Npower Batch C 9 months Outstanding Stipends will be paid in batches. This implies that the 9 months Stipends ranging from January to September, 2023 will not be paid at once. It will be paid in a batch of 3 months, which further implies that it will be paid about 3 times to complete the 9 months.
3. Each Eligible Beneficiary will recieve a total sum of N270,000 except beneficiaries owed more than 9 months: Yes, some beneficiaries are owed more than 9 months, particularly, Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries who have not recieved October, November and December 2022 Stipends. This set of beneficiaries will recieve a complete sum of N360,000 covering 12 months (1 year duration of the Batch C Npower Programme).
Beneficiaries who have recieved October, November and December 2022 Stipends are expecting 9 months outstanding Stipends while Beneficiaries who have not received October, November and December 2022 Stipends are expecting 12 months outstanding Stipends.
If you are a beneficiary who has recieved October, November and December 2022 Stipends, your Outstanding Stipends will be N30,000 times 9 months - covering January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August and September 2023, which will sum up to N270,000.
4. Only Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are eligible for the 9 months outstanding Stipends: While beneficiaries are expectant of the Batch C Outstanding Stipends, it is important to understand who and who are eligible for the outstanding Stipends.
The Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are made up of 490,000 beneficiaries. Out of these beneficiaries, only about 182,000 have recieved October, November and December Stipends. This implies that a huge number of 490,000 Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are yet to recieve 9 months Stipends while over 200,000 beneficiaries are owed additional 3 Months covering October, November and December 2022.
5. Batch C1 Npower Programme has ended: According to the Ministry, the Batch C1 Npower Programme has ended and the beneficiaries are therefore not entitled to any further payment.
The Benevolent package or exit package has been suspended as the new Minister did not recognize nor did she consider it as necessary following the end of the Batch C1 Npower Programme, and the amount of funds available.
