N-power News Today: Who are eligible for Npower 9 Months Outstanding Stipend Payment

The Federal Government has made further clarification on the payment of 9 months outstanding Stipends to Batch C Npower beneficiaries set to begin in November, 2023.

According to the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation led by Dr Betta Edu, the payment of the 9 Months Outstanding  Stipends is targeted at verified Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries only.

The Ministry stated, in an address to the beneficiaries on Monday, that the Batch C Stream 1 N-power Programme has ended and the beneficiaries are no longer in the programme, adding that they are not entitled to any exit or benevolent package because the during of the Batch C N-power Programme clearly stated 12 months ( ie 1 year).

Speaking further, the Ministry explained that upon investigation, only Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are owed for 9 months.

"The payment is only for C2 Npower beneficiaries who are owed. Other issues will be addressed in line with the outcome of the investigation", the Ministry stated.

By analysis, all the verified batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are owed for 9 months convering the months of January to September, 2023. This amounts to N30,000 times 9months, which is N270,000 per beneficiary.

However, some Batch C2 beneficiaries are owed for additional 3 Months. These are Batch C2 N-power beneficiaries who have not recieved any stipend in the 1 year N-power programme. The additional 3 Months are October, November and December, 2022.

As a matter of clarity, the 9 months Payment beginning in November 2023 is for all eligible Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries. Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries being owed for additional 3 months will be addressed later. For now, the new Ministry has agreed that batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are owed for 9 months, not more than 9 months.

The question now is, as an Npower Batch C2 beneficiary, how do I know if I'm eligible for the 9 months outstanding Stipends Payment. This is difficult because the NASIMS Self Service Portal ssp.nasims.gov.ng has been closed.

It is in view of that that a back end Npower Payment Eligibility Status Checker Link was released. The Npower Payment Eligibility Status Checker Link is http://self-service-portal.nasims.ng/applicant/login?fbclid=IwAR0W1L65wCPGUWqTR2jqjLSpDDBCxmERBzLUGB8tTLKYoIsZmSRGe6miS6U
