GEEP Loan: FG readies for GEEP Registration, trains NOA officials as Master Trainers

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk on Friday flagged off the training of National Orientation Agency Staff as Master Trainers, as the Ministry readies for 2021 GEEP Loan Registration.

The Ministry disclosing its continued partnership with the National Orientation Agency for the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme noted that the training would enable seamless execution and implementation of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment programme (GEEP).

According to the Ministry, the Master Trainers would train the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMO’s) as “GEEP Local Government Desk Officers” at all the 774 local government areas across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Farouk describing the roles of the GEEP Local Government Desk Officers stated that they would:

a) Sensitize communities on the GEEP programme

b) Register interested beneficiaries of TraderMoni , MarketMoni and FarmerMoni

c) Collect and collate necessary data for the programme

d) Provide necessary feedback to the programme coordinators at State and Federal Levels

e) Encourage active participation in the programme

f) And uphold the mandate of the programme and lead with honesty, fairness under conditions of oath.

The Government Enterprise and Empowerment programme (GEEP Loan) is one of the four (4) National Social Investment Programme designed to give collateral and interest-free credits to poor and vulnerable Nigerians at the bottom of the economic pyramid, which includes persons with disabilities (PWDs).
