NASIMS Assures Payment of Npower Beneficiaries Stipends Amidst Fear and Cold Atmosphere

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS), a department in charge of managing the Federal Government Npower Programme under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has re-assured payment of beneficiaries Outstanding Stipends even as fear has dampened the vibrance of the life-saving programme.

NASIMS speaking via its official Facebook Handle on Thursday stated that  the team is working hard to ensure that all outstanding Stipends are paid.

NASIMS assurance is coming amidst fear which has gripped the Npower beneficiaries following the silence of the new Minister, Dr Betta Edu, in directly responding to the beneficiaries' Stipend Payment challanges, especially as regards the Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries whose programme ends in this September but are yet to receive more than 3 Months Stipends in the 1 year Programme.

The beneficiaries had lamented that the atmosphere in the Npower Programme has been cold and blurry since the appointment of the new Minister while all effort made to hear directly from the Minister has been abortive.

The Minister had however in a Statement during an interaction segment with Radio Nigeria, two weeks ago, noted that "the experienced challenges faced in terms of stipends delay is being addressed, adding that her Ministry "will change the modalities so that people will get their delayed stipends, include more people and relaunch it with a renewed hope concept".

But the statement is yet to be backed with action while the beneficiaries roam in hazy expectations amids hunger, unemployment, and insecurity which have remained troubling issues in the country.

However, NASIMS has reacted to the complaints of the beneficiaries over unpaid Stipends, assuring that it's working to resolve all outstanding Stipends.

The Npower Management added that the beneficiaries of the Npower programme should be rest assured that all Stipends owed to each and every eligible beneficiary would be paid.

NASIMS recent assurence is a clear indication that the Npower Programme has not ended and the beneficiaries have not been forgotten.
