Npower Batch C1 Extention and Npower Batch A and B NEXIT Loan

It is encouraging to know that HOPE has kept many afloat in this perilous time of our country but is quite discouraging to realise that one has been sitting on a false hope.

The news about the Npower Batch C1 Extention is describably captivating but unfortunately, it is false.

The Batch C Stream 1 Npower Programme was designed as a 12 Months empowerment programme. It was flagged-off in August, 2021 but activities officially commenced in September, 2021. Stipend Payment to the 510,000 Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries started in the same September, 2021, and ends in August 2022.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development through the Minister's SA on Media and Publicity, Nneka Ikem Anibueze had announced the end of the Batch C Stream 1 Npower Programme in August, 2022.

"Batch C Npower  beneficiaries were divided into two streams, C1 and C2. Batch C1 was deployed in September 2021 and are due to exit the programme this August 2022 after spending 12 months in the programme," Mrs Anibueze stated.

The Batch C1 Extention news began before August 2022 but had resurfaced in September, 2022 with cull from the Nation's News Paper dated 14th January, 2020.

Rumours such as the Batch C1 Extention were prevalent in 2020 after the termination of the Batch A and B Npower Programme in June and July 2020 respectively.

Asides the rumour about the intention of the Federal Government to recruit the NTeach Npower beneficiaries as permanent Teachers, which the FG said they can not do unless States can, there were also rumours about the Permanent engagement of the N-Agro Npower beneficiaries as Agric Extention Workers across the 774 LGAs of the Federation.

The NAgro Npower beneficiaries were however utilised as Enumerators for FMARDPACE AFJP Project which their remuneration commenced in 2022 for a job done in 2020/2021, but were never absorbed as Permanent Agric Extention Workers.

It was on the heat of the Batch A and B permanent absorption, with several protests by the beneficiaries, that the Ministry announced a NEXIT Loan Programme for the beneficiaries.

It will interest the Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries to know that before the 2019 General Election, when Npower was handled in Vice President Osibanjo's Office and headed by Afolabi Imoukuede, there was a promise for not only Extention of the Npower programme but absorption into MDAs and conceivable opportunities. Oh! good old memories! Batch A and B still miss Afolabi, Ismail, Etc.

The Npower Batch C1 Extention rumour was premeditated by purveyors of FAKE news for their selfish gain but to the detriment of the Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries who have been inundated by fact of being expunged to the job market again after their August Stipend.

Let's stop sugar-coating realities. The intention of this publication is to encourage the Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries to be strong at this point by knowing the truth and planning to move on unlike the Batch A and B Npower beneficiaries whose hope has been awash in the NEXIT Loan Programme, after all other promises were cancelled.

Since 2020 till Date, the NEXIT Loan Programme is still the talk of the day among the Batch A and B Npower beneficiaries but none has recieved a penny as the NEXIT Loan till date.

To cut the long story short, Npower Batch C1 Extention was/has not been officially announced by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development through any of its official Npower or NASIMS handles.

The economic realities of the country does not permit for such extra expenditure and that's the major reason why Npower Batch C1 Stipend Payment has been inconsistent. The same reason is why Npower Batch C2 commencement is being delayed.
