N-power Batch C: Beneficiaries insist on September payment, taunt Ministry

Following the announcement that the Batch C Stream 1 N-power Beneficiaries will officially resume work on the 4th of October, 2021, the newly engaged N-power Beneficiaries have insisted on the payment of their September Stipends.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development making the declaration on Saturday, through the N-power verified Social Handle, told the beneficiaries to take a break for now until 4th October once they are done with their Physical Verification.

The announcement which was meant to give a relief to the beneficiaries however did not go down well as the beneficiaries alleged it was a plan to deny them their September Stipends.

Airing their dissatisfaction via the N-power Social Handle comment section, the beneficiaries noted that their official engagement in the N-power Programme commenced late August, 2021 while Physical Verification followed from 10th September, 2021.

Stating reasons for the September payment clamour, the N-power Beneficiaries explained that many of them who visited their Place of Primary Assignment earlier, were forced to resume work by the heads of their PPAs.

One of the N-power Beneficiaries, Yusuf Oluwatobi, recounted that many of the N-power Beneficiaries had to resign from their other daily pursuits in order to participate in the Physical Verification.

Yusuf furthered that since 2020, the processes of the engagement had been tormenting, adding that it will be unfair if the recent decision is meant to deny them their September Stipends.

Many of the beneficiaries argued that in the previous batches of the N-power Programme, the beneficiaries were paid from the month of their first visit to their PPAs regardless of delays caused by the N-power management.

The Humanitarian Affairs Ministry has however kept mute on the online agitation as they failed to respond to any of the comments.

The September Stipend for the 450,000 Graduates and 60,000 Non-Graduates N-power Beneficiaries will gulp the sum of N14.1 Billion if granted by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
