Breaking: Airtel begins SIM/NIN linking | See how to enroll

AirtelNG in adherence to the Federal Government directive that telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) in the country should within two weeks link all SIM Cards with the National Identity Number (NIN) or face blocking of SIMs, has commenced the NIN data capture.

The process which is completely electronic was developed to enable easy data capture without clustering to prevent the spread of COVID-19 Pandemic.

Here are simple steps for linking your Airtel SIM Cards with your NIN

1. Dial *121# with your Airtel line, it opens as below👇


2. Press 1 to select 'NIN Capture' and press 'Send', it opens as below 👇


3. Reply by pressing 1 and 'Send' to enter your NIN. It will open as below👇



4. Enter your 11 Digit NIN correctly in the space above and press 'Send'.

Note: You can dial *346# to retrieve you NIN through the  Phone Number used during NIN Registration.

Don't have NIN? You can do so conveniently by starting the process online here; http://nimc.gov.ng. Then visit a nearest enrollment centre to complete the registration. See the centres across Nigeria; https://www3.nimc.gov.ng/nimc-enrolment-centres/… ENROLLMENT IS FREE!"

5. A response will be display as below👇 showing that you have successfully linked your NIN with your Airtel SIM.  


Also, a text message would be sent the Airtel line as below👇

Kindly note that you would repeat the processes if you have more than 1 Airtel SIM.
