Use the remaining N90million to empower youths in my domain -Soun of Ogbomosoland

Following the violence that broke out after two weeks of the #EndSARS peaceful protest, purportedly triggered by the #Lekkimassacre which angered the youths in many parts of southern Nigeria resulting in destruction of properties, the Oyo State Government has pledged to donate N100Million for the renovation of the Soun of Ogbomosoland's Palace which was vandalised by the angry youths in the State.

The State Governor, Engr Oluseyi Makinde had donated 10million down payment for the commencement of the renovation but the Oba considered a priority over the remaining N90m balance as pledged by the State Governor.

In a letter titled 'Re: Pledge of One Hundred Million Naira (N100,000,000) for the Renovation of the vandalised Palace, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba (Dr) Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III implored Governor Makinde to direct the remaining N90m for the emowernment of youths in his domain.

"I would like to thank you once again for your kind gestures on your sympathy visit to the Palace."   

"We appreciate your contribution of a down payment of Ten Million Naira towards the renovation of the Palace."

"Consequently, I would like your Excellency to stay action on the remaining Ninety Million Naira. I suggest that the balance should be spent on youth empowerment in my domain."

The Soun of Ogbomosoland pointed out to Gov. Makinde that it is extremely important to empower the youths to ensure their positive contribution in societal development.
