Latest N-power News Update

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk, in an interactive session on DW TV Hausa stated that the application for the 2020 N-power program would be concluded this week.

The N-power Batch C application which commenced on 26th June, 2020 has received more than 4.5million applications from young unemployed Nigerians.

The Leadership Newspaper in a publication described the huge application for the short term program as a monumental acceptance of the Batch C N-power Program but Nigerians reacting to the publication described the huge number as an evidence of explosive youth unemployment amidst disastrous economic mismanagement in the Country.

The Humanitarian Affairs Minister in the recent media interview disclosed that her Ministry has concluded plans to ensure that the Batch A and B N-power Beneficiaries received their June stipends within the week, including those affected by the migration of the payment platform to the Government Integrated Financial Management System Server, and who do not have a query from their respective places of assignment.

Ms Farouk furthered that her Ministry is making efforts to ensure that the Batch C N-power beneficiaries would be officially engaged within the year as they gear towards the next line of action immediately the application process is concluded within the week.

Meanwhile, the Batch A and B N-power beneficiaries across the States of the Federation have concluded plans to match peacefully to the National Assembly as the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, demanded a repeat of the previous visit on Thursday 23rd July, 2020 to enable them negotiate with the protesting Beneficiaries.

The Graduate N-power Beneficiaries have been agitating for Permanent employment as citizens of Nigeria who have dedicated at least 2 years in a volunteering service to Nigeria's Education, Health and Agricultural Sectors or a substantial exit package to begin a new life in entrepreneurial endeavours.

Also among the requests from the Federal Government is payment of their June Stipends, Backlogs as well as speedy implementation of the Exit plan as the time of the exit of the N-power beneficiaries was inconvenient, and to avert impending disaster in the Country.

The Beneficiaries had wondered why Militants and Boko Haram members enjoys better welfare than graduates whom their parents have borne the pain of training them in the Universities but tossed around the streets by job racketeering, political jingoism and unconscientious economic mismanagement by the almighty few.
