Breaking: Enugu records 11th case of Coronavirus Infection


Enugu State has recorded a new case of Coronavirus infection in the State. This is the 11th Confirmed case and 9th active case in the State after the discharge of the two index cases previously recoreded, since the inception of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria.

The report is contained in the recent release from the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) as the battle against the pandemic takes imperative dimension from the Federal Government.

According to the report from NCDC, as of 12 May, 2020, Nigeria recorded 146 New confirmed cases upon testing 990 Samples, bringing the total number of Confirmed cases to 4,787.

It furthered that Lagos recorded 57 new cases, 27 in Kano, 10 in Kwara, 9 in Edo, 8 in Bauchi, 7 in Yobe, 4 in Kebbi, 4 in Oyo, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Niger, 2 in Plateau, 2 in Borno, 2 in Sokoto, 2 in Benue, 1 in Gombe, 1 in Enugu, 1 in Ebonyi, 1 in Ogun, 1 in FCT and 1 in Rivers.

The Agency Confimed the discharge of 57 New recovered victims of COVID-19 in Nigeria and 6 New deaths, bringing the total recovery and death toll to 959 and 158 respectively.

Current break down is as follows:
Total Confirmed Cases - 4,787

Active Cases - 3,670
Total States   - 34 + FCT
Total Tested Samples -29,404
  • The 57 Recoveries were reported as 13 in Kano, 12 in FCT, 16 in Bauchi, 2 in Katsina, 7 in Ogun, 3 in Sokoto, 1 in Oyo and 3 in Bayelsa.
  • While the recent 6 deaths were reported as 1 in Kano, 1 in FCT, 1 in Kaduna, 1 in Sokoto and 2 in Bauchi.
Cross River and Kogi State have remained uninfected since the inception of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria
