COVID-19 Update: Nigeria records 4 Deaths in a day as Confirmed cases hits 493


The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the confirmation of 51 New confirmed cases and 4 New deaths bringing the total number of Confirmed cases and Death toll to 493 and 17 respectively.

According to the Agency, as at 10:10pm 17th April, 2020, Lagos reported 32 cases, 6 in Kano, 5 in Kwara, 2 in FCT, 2 in Oyo, 2 in Katsina, 1 in Ogun and 1 in Edo.

    NCDC also reported the discharge of 7 New recovered victims of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria bringing the total number of Recovery to 159. The analysis from the report indicates that Lagos has discharged 90 recovered victims, 23 in Abuja, 17 in Osun, 6 in Edo, 5 in Oyo, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Kaduna, 3 in Akwaibom, 2 in Ekiti, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Enugu and 2 in Rivers.

    Rivers State just like Enugu has recorded successful discharge of their 2 Confirmed cases.

    The death toll as reported by NCDC indicates that Lagos has recorded 11 Deaths, 2 in Abuja, 1 in Kano, 1 in Katsina, 1 in Edo and 1 in Delta bringing total to 17.
