COVID-19 Update: 196 new Confirmed Cases, 7 new Deaths as Total Confirmed cases rises to 1,728



The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) yesterday announced the detection of new 196 cases of Coronavirus Pandemic in Nigeria. The report released by NCDC indicated an unrelenting surge of the number of Confirmed cases to a total of 1,728.

According to the Agency, as at 11:55 pm 29th April, 87 cases were reported in Lagos, 24 in Kano, 18 in Gombe, 17 in Kaduna, 16 in FCT, 10 in Katsina, 8 in Sokoto, 7 in Edo, 6 in Borno, 1 in Ebonyi, 1 in Adamawa and 1 in Yobe.

The report also indicated 7 New deaths and 52 Recovery bringing the total number of deaths and Recovery to 51 and 307 respectively.

The current breakdown is as follows: 

Total Confirmed Cases - 1728
Total Recovery - 307
Total Death - 51
Active Cases - 1370
Total States     34 + FCT

The recent report from NCDC indicated that the 7 New deaths were reported as 2 in Lagos, 2 in Kano and 3 in Borno.

The 52 Recovery were reported as 49 in Lagos, 1 in Ogun, 1 in Edo and 1 in Kaduna.

The death toll as reported by NCDC indicates that Lagos has recorded 21 Deaths, 3 in Abuja, 3 in Kano, 2 in Katsina, 3 in Edo, 2 in Delta, 1 in Akwaibom and 5 in Borno, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Ondo, 1 in Ekiti, 1 in Ogun, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Osun, 3 in Sokoto bringing the total death toll to 51.

Analysis from the current report from NCDC indicates that Lagos has 192 recovered victims, 36 in Abuja, 18 in Osun, 9 in Edo, 9 in Oyo, 6 in Ogun, 6 in Kaduna, 9 in Akwaibom, 2 in Ekiti, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Enugu, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Kwara and 6 in Bauchi, 2 in Ondo, 0 in Kano, 6 in Katsina, 0 in Gombe, 4 in Delta, 0 in Borno, 0 in Abia, 0 in Niger, 0 in Jigawa, 0 in Gombe, 1 in Anambra, 0 in Benue and 0 in Sokoto.

The statistical report from NCDC also indicates that there are 718 Active cases in Lagos, 135 in FCT, 136 in Kano, 14 in Osun, 10 in Oyo, 25 in Edo, 43 in Ogun, 38 in Katsina, in Kwara, 2 in Akwaibom, 23 in Bauchi, 26 in Kaduna, 5 in Delta, 5 in Ondo, 5 in Ekiti, 1 in Enugu, 3 in Rivers, 2 in Niger, 7 in J
igawa, 1 in Benue, 0 in Anambra, 54 in Borno, 64 in Gombe, 2 in Abia and 24 in Sokoto, 1 in Adamawa, 1 in Plateau, 4 in Zamfara, 1 in Imo, 8 in Taraba, 1 in Kebbi, 1 in Ebonyi and 1 in Bayelsa and  1 in Nasarawa, 1 in Yobe.
