COVID-19: Panic in Anambra as Index case visited two Anambra cities



The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has on 10th April, 2020 reported the confirmation of an index case in Anambra State.

A source has revealed that the index case had visited Awka and Onitsha before being confirmed positive for Coronavirus. According to the source, the index case who returned from Lagos has been in the state before the closure of the Niger Bridge between Anambra and Asaba, Delta State.

It was revealed that the index case developed mild symptoms and was treated for malaria at Regina Caeli Hospital, Awka before he left, visited Onitsha and travelled to his home town in Adazi, Aniocha Local Government of Anambra. The index case was said to have exhibited recurrent symptoms in his town and was admitted into Adazi Nnukwu Hospital where he was suspected for Coronavirus infection. 
The State Commisioner of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Don Adinuba, noted that contact tracing started immediately the result came out positive as announced by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control.
