How to successfully Update NIN for Federal Government Palliative Grant Payment without visiting Verification Centers

The NIN/BVN Update and Verification has become a prerequisite for recieving the Federal Government Palliative Grant payment as a means of validating the authenticity of the applicants, and also a way of curbing double or multiple payment to a single beneficiary.

All applicants are expected to update NIN and BVN in the Federal Government Palliative Grant Programme portal in order to recieve payment for the Presidential Conditional Grant in which the second phase of Payment has continued this month.

The Federal government commenced the payment of the applicants under the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS) early March, 2024 as part of the Federal Government Palliatives to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on Nano businesses in the country, alongside the Federal Government Palliative Loan Scheme.

However, as a technical procedure to prevent an observed double and multiple application through the use of different phone numbers, the implementation committee mandatorily introduced NIN/BVN validation as a single identity authentication system to ensure that each valid applicant recieved a single transfer of N50,000.

You may have recieved a text message to visit a physical location for the PCGS NIN/BVN Update, however, the Online NIN/BVN Update is still valid and easiest way to make the update without spending on transportation to visit a physical verification center.

Many applicants who followed this means of PCGS NIN/BVN Update have been paid successfully in the on going round of Payment.

The method is as follows:

The Presidential Conditional Grant, a N50,000 one time Grant payment to successful beneficiaries, is a N75b Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS) designed to reach one million nano businesses in the 774 local government areas.

The Target beneficiaries of the Federal Government Palliative Grant are 70% women and youth, 10% people with disabilities, and 5% senior citizens, while the remaining 15% is distributed to other demographics.

While the Presidential Conditional Grant is free and non-repayable, the Federal Government Palliative Loan is repayable at a very minimal interest rate.
