Npower Batch C2 Payment: Fear grips Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries as 2023 General Election approaches

The Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries have been largely eager to know when their Stipends of about 3 months would be paid, especially as the year 2022 winds up.

The Batch C2 Npower Programme which commenced officially on 4th October 2022 has left the beneficiaries in utter dismay as they have not recieved a dime since the commencement of the Programme.

The Npower Management responding to the beneficiaries' complaints on the Batch C2 Payment has stated that the Payment would commence in 2022, but has failed to give a date on the Batch C2 Stipend Payment.

Just as synonymous with the Npower programme since inception, the words "soon", "in no distant time", and "shortly" are all indefinite time, even as the Npower management calls for patience among the Npower beneficiaries.

The Npower Management has cited Deployment of Beneficiaries such as in Lagos, Osun, Akwaibom and other States as the key reason for the delay in the Npower Batch C2 Payment, asides the ICPC investigation over payroll fraud.

While the Batch C2 Payment, Work Nation and NEXIT Loan remain top stories in the Npower Programme, the big issue now is the Future of the Npower programme beyond 2023 General Election.

In this post, we at Myinfoclock Daily Info Update will update you on the Future of the Npower programme or wether it will be scrapped after the 2023 General Election.

Recall that the Federal Executive Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at its meeting on Wednesday Sept 7,2022 resolved that NSIP should be backed by legislation to ensure its continuity and sustainability.

The Bill tittled NSIP (Establishment) Agency Bill seeked to establish the National Social Investment Programme Agency for the management and implementation of the National Social Investment Prorgrammes.

On Tuesday 29th November 2022, President Buhari sent the bill to formally establish the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) to the Senate. Reference: Thisday 29th November 2022 https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2022/11/29/buhari-sends-bill-to-establish-nsip-to-senate

According to Blueprintng, the Senate on December 8 gave the Bill a Speedy consideration, and it scalled Second reading.

The Committee chairman, Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf (APC Taraba Central), said that as mandated by the Senate after passage of the bill for second reading, the committee would expedite action on the bill by carrying out public hearing on it within a week and get report for its consideration for third reading to the Senate before proceeding on Christmas and New year break. With the speedy attention the Bill has attracted from the Senate, it is hopeful that it will scale the third reading and be completely approved by the Senate.

There is hope. There is a very big hope that the Npower programme would continue after the 2023 General Election.

The current minister will be changed in 2023 as new appointments would be made in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

We hope that the new Minister will carry along the Npower Batch C2, Work Nation Programme and the NEXIT Loan Programme, but only if and if APC regains the Presidency in 2023.
