Corporate Affairs Commision debunks trending free CAC Registration

The Corporate Affairs Commision (CAC) has warned the general public against a trending message and web link circulated through Whatsapp and Facebook claiming that the Federal Government has approved all Self Employed and Business owners to Register their businesses free of charge through the web link https://bit.ly/Free-CAC-Registration.

The message reads:

"FEDERAL GORVERNMENT HAS APPROVED All SELF EMPLOYED AND BUSSINESS OWNERS TO CARRY-OUT THEIR C.A.C(CORPORATE AFFAIR COMMISSION) REGISTRATION ONLINE FREE OF CHARGE

"BENEFITS OF C.A.Cs are

-Free N50,000 cash from FG

-Certificate of Incorporation

-Legal Liability Protection

-Free International Trade

-Continuity

-Free Trip to UK

-Reputation With Customers

-Getting on FG Record.

The Commision while alerting the Public, Thursday, warned that should anyone come across the above message, it should be ignore adding that CAC is not a party to it.

Investigation on the web link reveals that it is a data phishing link devised by fraudsters to collate data of Nigerians who may wish to apply for their business registration, in preparation for extensive financial scam on the victims. 

The Commision encouraged Nigerians willing to Register their businesses online to use the Commission's website https://pre.cac.gov.ng to apply for their CAC Certificate Registration.
