Federal Teachers Scheme: UBEC sets Cut-off Mark, issues further directives

The Universal Basic Education Commission  (UBEC) has set the cut-off Mark for the engagement of qualified Nigerians into the Federal Teachers Scheme at 50% Mark, following the outcome of the 16th November Computer Based Test organised for the Scheme.

The Commission had recently released the results of the Screening with candidates scoring between 0-90 Marks which have been dispatched to State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) for the view of the participating candidates.

UBEC has directed that preceding the resumption of duties early December, is the submission of Photocopies of Credentials at State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) not later than Tuesday 1st December, 2020 or face forfeiture of December Salary.

The Federal Teachers’ Scheme (FTS) is a two-year intervention programme established by the Federal Government in 2006 to assist States in addressing Teacher shortage at the Basic Education level where the participate candidates would be paid a salary of about N30,000.

The application for the 2020 Recruitment into the Federal Teachers Scheme officially commenced on 10th September and lasted for 2 weeks while the Screening Examination was taken on 16th November, 2020 upon shortlisting  400 candidates from each State of the Federation plus the Federal Capital Territory.
