Just In: IGP warns Police Officers

The Inspector General Of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, has warned Police Officers  and their Commanders against the use of force on peaceful protesters.

Stating this on the Nigeria Police Force social channel 7pm today, the IGP reiterated that Citizens  have fundamental rights of freedom of expression, assembly and movement adding that it must always be upheld and protected by the Police Force.

IGP Adamu however appealed to protesters to continually conduct themselves peacefully and guide their ranks against infiltration by criminal elements.

The IGP stressed that the Force Leadership has heared the voice of the people clearly and the leadership is irrevocably committed to doing everything possible to address the observed ills, punish the offending officers and enthrone a people-friendly police force.
