Breaking: Nigerians react as DSTV, GOTV air free of charge

Many Nigerians have taken to their Social handles to express mixed feelings as the South African foremost Digital Pay Tv Service provider, DSTV, airs free of charge across most of it's paid channels.

A lot of Nigerians had wondered if it is connected to the recent activities of the notorious international hacker, Anonymous, who had showed support for the ongoing #EndSARS, #EndPolicebrutality protest in Nigeria by hacking the Nigerian Government websites with altimatum of 72hours to meet the demands of the protesting youths or face more cyber attacks.

Some who felt amazed by the unusual free to air service from DSTV since today evening had likened it to technical faults or a service failure as DSTV is never known for a free to air channel or channels since it began digital pay Tv services in Nigeria.

DSTV has however cleared the air this evening by noting that the company is currently on a system upgrade which  would make some of their services offline, purportedly including the billing system but did not interrupt the display system as many Nigerians rejoice over the recent unprecedented free to air service in Nigeria.

"Our services are currently offline. We are currently upgrading our systems from 17th October to 4:00pm 19th October, 2020. All self-service platforms are not available during this time," DSTV Management stated.

Meanwhile, the ecstasy of a free to air DSTV and GOTV is overwhelming as such has never happened in the history of DSTV digital TV activities in Nigeria before, many Nigerians reacted.
