774,000 Recruitment: FG extends commencement date

The Federal Government has extended the commencement of the 774,000 Special Public Works Program to nineteen(19) days from 1st October,2020.

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo had earlier announced that the 3months program would commence on 1st October, 2020 but the necessity of putting all requirements into play, had prompted the extention of the commencement date.

The Federal Government has however commenced the preliminary activities which includes opening of bank accounts for the nominated beneficiaries across the federation through some selected banks.

The successful beneficiaries of the program which is slated to last from October to December, 2020, would be engaged in clearing of gutters, clearing of market square, traffic control and other minor activities that would be assigned to them as a necessity in each of the States of the Federation.

The beneficiaries of the program would be paid N20,000 monthly stipends as the program forms part of the President Mohammadu Buhari's palliative measures, to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
