Barely few hours to declare the winner of the Edo State Gubernatorial Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressive Congress has taken to their Social handle to congratulate the candidate of the People's Democratic Party and incumbent Governor of Edo State, Gov. Godwin Obaseki.
"Congratulations to the Governor elect of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki. The people of Edo State have spoken, Democracy has once been uplifted again," APC for Continuity stated.
Gov. Obaseki had led with more than 80,000 votes in the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission from 16 Local Governments in the State.
Meanwhile, an APC Enthusiast, Ayekooto Akindele has condenmed the activities of top Government officials who were brought to limelight and are fed fat by the APC led adminstration but are bent on working against the party.
Ayekooto Akindele writes :
"For those who are working in the villa or members of FEC or Governors who are feeding fat on the glory of APC and yet working against APC...remember that some of us receive NOTHING from the APC, I dont attend Aso Rock meetings or Burdillion chats, NO POLITICIAN feeds me, yet I get people's account numbers, send money to faithfuls who are just shouting APC, BUHARI everywhere out of their passion for decent society but unfortunately, they are equally a victim of Nigeria's inglorious past which GMB is trying to rescue."
"Our support for the Progressive cause is never a contributor to our livelihood, we work like there's no tomorrow, we dont even hope to get rewarded for being loyal, we see it as our PATRIOTIC act."
"And you that enjoy the goodness of the APC, earning money and flying jets all over the world at the expense of the APC, you're working against the party to see it defeated and its leaders embarrassed. Why? To revenge? So you think we are not offended too? To skim? So you think we are not better than you in public service?"
