COVID-19 Updates: Enugu gets 4 New cases of Coronavirus Infection


Enugu State has recorded 4 New cases of Coronavirus Infection which has prompted 6 Active cases while  raising the overall confirmed cases for the State to 8 since the inception of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria.

This is contained in the results released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control early hours of Sunday, 3rd May, 2020.

According to NCDC, as at 11:55 pm 2nd May, 2020, Nigeria has recorded  220 new confirmed cases which has surged up the total number of Confirmed cases to 2,388 from 16,588  overall tested samples.


The report from the Agency furthered that there were 62 cases in Lagos, 52 in FCT, 31 in Kaduna, 13 in Sokoto, 10 in Kebbi, in Yobe, in Borno, 5 in Edo, 5 in Bauchi, 4 in Gombe, 4 in Enugu, 4 inOyo, 3 in Zamfara, 2 in Nasarawa, 2 in Osun, 2 in Ebonyi, 2 in Kwara, 2 in Kano and in Plateau.

The Agency also recorded 17 New Deaths and 34 New Recovery bringing total death toll and Recovery to 85 and 385 respectively.

Current break down is as follows:

The recent 17 deaths were reported as 2 in Lagos, 3 in Kano, in Borno, 1 in Ogun, 1 in Sokoto, 3 in Katsina, 1 in Yobe, 1 in Zamfara, 1 in Bayelsa

The Recovery were reported in Lagos and  Ogun.

The death toll as reported by NCDC indicates that Lagos has recorded 30 Deaths, 3 in Abuja, 6 in Kano, 6 in Katsina, 3 in Edo, 2 in Delta, 2 in Akwaibom and 11 in Borno, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Ondo, 1 in Ekiti, 2 in Ogun, 2 in Rivers, 3 in Osun, 8 in Sokoto, 1 in Kaduna, 1 in Yobe, 1 in Zamfara and 1 in Bayelsa, bringing the total death toll to 85.

Analysis from the current report from NCDC indicates that Lagos has 247 recovered victims, 36 in Abuja, 22 in Osun, 10 in Edo, 9 in Oyo, 9 in Ogun, 6 in Kaduna, 10 in Akwaibom, 2 in Ekiti, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Enugu, 2 in Rivers, 2 in Kwara and 6 in Bauchi, 3 in Ondo, 0 in Kano, 6 in Katsina, 0 in Gombe, 4 in Delta, 0 in Borno, 0 in Abia, 0 in Niger, 0 in Jigawa, 0 in Gombe, 1 in Anambra, 0 in Benue and 1 in Sokoto.

The statistical report from NCDC also indicates that there are 789 Active cases in Lagos, 227 in FCT, 300 in Kano, 11 in Osun, 22 in Oyo, 39 in Edo, 45 in Ogun, 28 in Katsina, 14 in Kwara, 4 in Akwaibom, 47 in Bauchi, 59 in Kaduna, 11 in Delta, 10 in Ondo, 8 in Ekiti, 6 in Enugu, 10 in Rivers, 3 in Niger, 6 in Jigawa, 1 in Benue, 0 in Anambra, 64 in Borno, 96 in Gombe, 2 in Abia and 45 in Sokoto, 4 in Adamawa, 3 in Plateau, 11 in Zamfara, 2 in Imo, 8 in Taraba, 12 in Kebbi, 5 in Ebonyi, 5 in Bayelsa, 9 in Nasarawa, 12 in Yobe.
