COVID-19: Nigeria records 25 Confirmed cases in a day as number of Death hits 4


Nigeria has on Friday 3rd April confirmed 25 new cases raising the number of confirms cases to 210. Death toll rose to 4 while 5 new recoveries were recorded.

According to the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC), as at 11:00 am 3rd April, the Agency recorded 5 confirmed cases in Osun State.

NCDC also stated that it recorded 20 New cases as at 10:30 pm 3rd April, 2020. 11 confirmed cases were recorded in Lagos, 3 in FCT, 3 in Edo, 2 in Osun and 1 in Ogun.

The Agency confirmed that 2 new deaths were recorded in Lagos and Edo bringing the number of deaths to 4 while 5 victims of the COVID-19 pandemic were discharged on Friday raising the number of Recovery to 25.

In a daily Presidential Task Force briefing, the Director General of NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, stated that the organisation has tested 4,000 Nigerians who are purportedly suspected contacts or abroad returnees.



The Director General noted that the Agency is working with stakeholders in public and private sectors to expand the testing capacity of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
