COVID-19: Lagos to host Emergency Food Markets across Metropolis



In a bid to cushion the effect of the stay-at-home order in Lagos State, the State Ministry of Agriculture has mapped out strategies to organise 'intervention markets' that would enable lagosian restock their food reserves with more food items.

According to a publicity delivered by the CEO of DASUN Integrated Farms Ltd and an active participant in the program, Mrs Bosun Solarin, the intervention markets will be hosted within schools situated around the closed markets across Lagos State on Friday 3rd April, 2020.

The location for the temporary shopping channels across Lagos Metropolis are as follows:

Mrs Solarin noted that the Government of Lagos State has encouraged farmers to bring in their product to sell on the day so as to enable buyers have enough to buy and stock their kitchens.

Lagosians are advised to ensure social distancing, regular hand washing and use of Sanitizers even while the program is being conducted to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
