The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has alerted Nigerians to avoid being scammed by fraudsters who parade themselves as agents of the Ministry.

The Ministry made this known on Thursday while debunking a post by a social media user who claimed he could facilitate the registration and disbursement of Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) and COVID-19 RRR to applicants who could contact him.

Hon Japhet Bodonyefa wrote:

"FG CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER (CCT) EMPOWERMENT

"Recently, FG released N400Billion to pay Nigerian Houseold as part of Federal Government Poverty Alleviation Programmes.

"In regards to Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT), which is one of the programme FG agreed to pay 10k every months to each citizens for the period of 1year (12 Months).

"Below are the confirmation of the registration approval of those who successful registered under me in the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT).

"Once again, I wish you Goodluck as FG will kick off the Disbursement soonest.

"Note: The CCT and NCT registration is still going on. Please register now, so that you too can be smiling and thank me later.

"Are you Interested?... Message me! - Hon Japhet Bodonyefa"

The Social Media user had also on Tuesday claimed that he could facilitate the registration and disbursement of N100,000 to N500,000 GEEP Loan (GEEP 2.0) as an agent of the GEEP Loan Programme.  

The Ministry quelling the fraudulent posts warned that it will never request money from anyone to enroll into any of the National Social Investment Programmes.

"Beware of fraudulent posts on social media by scammers who seek to defraud innocent individuals," the Ministry added.
