The Nigerian Government in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme has disclosed that it is aiming at completing the processes for the final selection of candidates who would participate in the NJFP Programme before 15th May, 2022.
This was made known through e-mails sent to the applicants by the organisers of the Programme on Sunday.
The NJFP organisers in the update stated that the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme, which is projected to empower 20,000 talented Nigerian Graduates through 1 year job placement and mentorship on N20,000 - N50,000 monthly Stipend, recieved 365,679 applications nationwide.
The programme organisers emphasised that out of the huge number of applicants, 116,636 met the minimum qualifications based on the selection criteria, noting that the critical processes which are ongoing, include the final selection of the most qualified applicants for Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme.
Describing the processes, the team stated:
"Three main steps are ongoing
"1. Final Selection of Fellows: This phase includes administering a series of aptitude tests and other qualitative assessments to further filter applicants
"2. Selection of Host Organizations: Review and final selection of host
organization applicants to be matched with selected Fellows.
"3. Matching Fellows with Host Organizations: Final matching of the selected fellows to host organizations in both private and public sector
institutions"
"Following these three steps, communication will be made to successful applicants. Fellow profiles then be developed and sent to prospective host companies for their final review. This will then lead to the onboarding process into the programme", the NJFP organisers added.
The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) was launched on 31st August, 2021 by the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration as a partnership initiative between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The programme was necessitated by the rising unemployment and the COVID-19 pandemic which are all all impacting the ability of young Nigerians to find work.
NJFP seeks to connect talented graduates with local job opportunities that apply to their expertise, while equipping them with world-class practical knowledge and relevant skills. It does not matter if you have no job experience!
The 20,000 targeted beneficiaries to participate in the programme would be monthly Stipends ranging from N20,000 to N50,000 for a period of 1 year.
